ART: a quality mark for bike locks

You can recognise a safe, high-quality lock by its ART seal of approval. Just about all insurers today require to use an ART approved lock to secure your bike when taking out insurance against theft. That’s why manufacturers all over the world are having their locks tested and certified by ART.

Lock your bike securely

Stay one step ahead of thieves by always locking your bicycle with an ART approved lock. And always use a second ART lock to secure your bike to the “fixed world”, like a bridge or a bike rack. Read more…>

What is the ART Foundation?

The Dutch ART Foundation is committed to preventing bicycle theft. We work to improve the security level of bicycle locks. The Foundation is a joint project of the RAI Association, the ANWB, various insurance companies and SKG-IKOB. Manufacturers can have their locks tested and approved by ART. Locks are extensively tested for durability, weather resistance, environmental resistance and attack resistance. Locks that pass the test receive the ART quality mark. Since its inception in 1982, the ART quality mark has expanded to become the top security seal for manufacturers and insurers of bicycles in the Netherlands and countries all over the world.
